This page contains preferred notation conventions for mathematical formulas used in pages of this wiki:

\mathrm{a,B} \mathbf{} \mathrm{} Designators are denoted with non-italic, non-bold roman characteracters (for example, cv may indicate variable cost, while cv suggests cost item v).
\mathit{a,B} \mathbf{} \mathit{} Scalar variables are indicated with italics.
\mathbf{a,b} \mathbf{} Vectors are indicated with lower case boldface.
\mathbf{A,B} \mathbf{} Matrices are indicated with upper case boldface.
\mathcal{A,B} \mathcal{} Sets are indicated with upper case calligraphy script.
\mathbb{R,Z} \mathbb{} Special sets, such as the set of real numbers or the set of integers, are indicated with upper case blackboard-bold font.

DDWiki is built on MediaWiki (the same base as Wikipedia), and it uses a subset of TeX markup (including some extensions from LaTeX), for writing mathematical expressions. The Wikipedia site has a list of examples for how to create a variety of symbols and fonts.
